World of Warcraft: Forever

Privacy policy

How Second Hearth uses browser storage, site analytics, advertising, and third-party services, and the choices available to visitors.

Your information at Second Hearth

Second Hearth is an independent World of Warcraft fan site maintained by rknash. This policy describes information used to operate its planning tools, measure site use, deliver optional Discord updates, and display advertising. Last updated: October 26, 2026.

Plans and progress saved in your browser

The tools use local storage to remember builds, collection and quest progress, prices, and preferences on this device. These local saves remain until you clear them or remove this site’s browser data. Clearing browser data can erase saved plans and progress.

Share links include the plan encoded in the URL. Anyone who receives a link can read that plan, including any names you added. Avoid putting private information in a shared plan. Local saves do not automatically sync to another device.

Site analytics and retention

Our first-party analytics record page visits, navigation, referral and outbound-link domains, device and browser categories, approximate country when provided by Cloudflare, and changes or sharing in the talent, Legacy, and composition builders. Builder observations contain class and specialization choices, levels, allocations, and roster size. A random per-tab identifier in session storage groups activity and renews after 30 minutes of inactivity; the server hashes it before storage.

The analytics database excludes character and build names, raw IP addresses, raw user-agent strings, full URLs, query strings, and search text. Detailed browser events are retained for 90 days and daily origin-request aggregates for 400 days, with periodic pruning while collection is active. Imported daily Cloudflare totals are kept until the operator removes them. These limits describe the site’s analytics database, not the separate practices of service providers.

Google advertising and your choices

When advertising is available, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this site or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to personalize ads using those visits. Other advertising partners may also place or read cookies or use web beacons and IP addresses in connection with ad delivery and measurement.

You can manage personalized Google ads through My Ad Center. You can also use the Digital Advertising Alliance’s choices page to opt out of participating vendors’ personalized advertising, or visit a vendor’s website for its own controls. Your browser lets you block or clear cookies and site storage; browser and device settings may need to be managed separately. These choices do not necessarily stop all advertising.

Hosting, tooltips, videos, and external links

Cloudflare handles requests to the site for hosting delivery, traffic analytics, and security. It necessarily receives connection information such as IP addresses and request headers. Wowhead tooltip scripts request item, spell, and quest details from Wowhead services. Those third-party requests disclose connection information to their providers.

Videos load a YouTube privacy-enhanced player when you choose to play them. Following a link to Blizzard, Wowhead, Google, GitHub, or another website takes you to a service with its own privacy practices. Their policies govern information they collect.

Optional Discord updates

If you connect a Discord channel, the server stores its webhook URL and delivery state so it can send the requested blue-post updates. The browser keeps connection-management information, and the server stores a hash of its management token. A webhook URL is a credential: do not share it publicly.

Use the Discord updates controls in the browser where you connected the channel to disconnect it. You can also delete the webhook in Discord to stop delivery. Deleting site storage alone does not cancel a server subscription. Discord receives the messages sent to your connected channel and handles them under its own policies.

Questions and policy updates

For privacy questions, email [email protected]. Do not include passwords, webhook URLs, or other credentials. We update this page when the site’s data practices change; the date above identifies the current version.
